Solution Architect



Utilizes advanced solutions architectural expertise to support software implementation projects.  Supports overall project planning by providing functional strategic guidance. Contributes to business development through leading complex discussions with clients and potential clients to promote Rizing EAM’s latest offerings.

Essential Functions

  • Provides strategic guidance for SAP project planning, integration and overall solution architecture.
  • Provides project leadership to Professional Services team members to implement best practice decisions that successfully impact the overall platform.
  • Provides guidance in promoting designs, tools, and new features that take full advantage of SAP and Rizing EAM’s most up-to-date offerings.
  • Supports project leads in translating business goals into appropriate solutions while assessing feasibility and optimization of the solution. 
  • Supports strong business development initiatives by communicating with current and potential clients regarding expanded capabilities, features, and solutions most applicable to their needs.
  • Obtains new business by collaborating with Business Development to provide workshops, write RFP responses, and problem-solve unique client challenges.
  • Cultivates industry-specific business process knowledge and familiarity with relevant functional strategies, objectives, and plans through networking with product and topic-specific expert groups, internally and externally.
  • Provides input on training and expands upon SAP skillset and knowledge of industry trends/technologies by participating in Rizing EAM competency centers. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field; relevant experience can be substituted for degree.
  • 5 years of technical leadership experience leading technology or deployment projects.
  • Experience working on SAP EAM and SCM implementations and familiarity with capital intensive industry business processes.
  • Experience working on multiple full life cycle SAP implementation including EAM experience.

Required Experience

  • A demonstrated background in SAP EAM implementations. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the SAP operating platforms including S/4HANA.
  • Knowledge of SAP latest EAM offerings, including IAM, AIN, APM, ASPM, GEF, etc. 
  • Knowledge of the technical products and services supporting EAM, not limited to but including ABAP, UI, interfaces (CPI, PIPO, SDI), integration to plant systems (IoT, MII), etc.
  • Thorough understanding of the Asset Management Lifecyle and associated SAP products (PPM, PM, PS, MM, LAM, CU, Mobility, GIS etc.). 
  • An understanding of maintenance best practices across multiple asset types.  
  • Strong functional knowledge of Maintenance, Inventory Management and related business processes, and related SAP EAM supporting capabilities.
  • Willingness to accommodate weekly travel to support regional business development activities and client engagements.   
  • Demonstrated success in evaluating and selling to customer needs.
  • Prior experience working a business development or sales role within the EAM space / IoT and/or IAM products (electricity distribution/transmission, natural gas, water).
  • An understanding of predictive analytics and data analysis would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite for the position.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all components of enterprise architecture
  • Experience with business process design
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestments
  • Experience with database and operating system design
  • Demonstrated ability in performance tuning methodologies, capacity planning, release management, monitoring and reporting processes.
  • ISO55000, ITIL, Lean/Six Sigma, SAP EAM, or SAP S/4HANA certification.
  • Previous role in asset management or production.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Expert in SAP’s EAM suite and related areas, including PP, MM, and PPM.
  • Basic knowledge of new SAP products, including IAM, AIN, APM, ASPM, GEF, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP mobility tools.
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills to navigate the interests and viewpoints of multiple parties and reach a common solution.
  • Creative mindset and the ability to challenge the status quo to exceed customer expectations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to express ideas and information in a clear and concise manner and tailor message to fit the interests and needs of the audience.
  • Attention to detail and quality with the ability to rapidly learn and apply new business concepts, models, and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple client projects, prioritize, and delegate as needed.
  • Knowledge of one or more industries across manufacturing, transportation, utilities, oil and gas, or mining. 
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to develop indirect reports on a project team, and the ability to gain credibility with project members.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.

Work Environment and Special Consideration

  • Works in a professional office and/or remote office environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, monitor, phones, and headsets. May also use white boards and/or virtual meeting rooms.
  • Willingness to accommodate travel to support client engagements, typically 80% of the time.
