Senior Consultant

Leads small to medium sized collaborative team efforts to facilitate implementation of SAP Solutions within Consumer Industries. Provides consulting services by delivering assistance with designing, configuring, set-up, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying applications. Utilizes industry knowledge and expertise to ensure successful implementations. May supervise other Consultants and/or Analysts.

Essential Functions

  • Functions as a team leader in a small to medium sized collaborative team utilizing industry-specific knowledge and expertise to design, implement, and deploy SAP solutions at client’s worksite.
  • Prioritize objectives and contribute to project planning and status reporting.
  • Prepare presentations materials and present findings in front of the team or to a larger audience.
  • Adopt company’s methodologies and procedures to create solutions to solve moderately-complex problems.
  • Works directly with customer Business Process Owners to understand current processes, their requirements and recommend solutions to include producing functional and technical specification documents.
  • Interacts with various members of client’s organization and internal specialists, e.g. Project Managers, Scrum Master, Team Leads, OCM resources, Trainers, and Analysts.
  • Manages third party vendors, contractors, and off-shore resources to deliver the solution.
  • Provides knowledge transfer and training to junior staff and client resources to get them up to speed with the solution.
  • Supports pre-sales activities and produces demo/presentation content.
  • Participates and supports internal initiatives and internal product development when needed.
  • Provides expertise and supports co-workers on different projects.
  • Contributes to marketing content/blog on company’s website.
  • Completes continuing education activities to attain and maintain professional certifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of specific SAP or project management to include experience designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions.
  • Multiple full cycle SAP implementations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Consumer Industries experience.
  • Certification in specific subject area.
  • Prior experience in functional or technical consulting role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Expert knowledge in specific industry and area of expertise, to include how SAP software is used in the client’s business environment and how the SAP Solution will enhance the overall business and technical processes.
  • Expert understanding of SAP business processes, strong configuration, design and development.
  • Advanced MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to understand and follow the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to project and company goals.
  • Ability to attentively listen and effectively communicate with clients in order to build relationships to include effectively articulating ideas to various audiences, creating and delivering presentations, facilitating focus groups and workshops.
  • Ability to assess and assist clients with existing systems and optimize their solutions using existing knowledge of system functionality and best practice recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse project team, deploying the features and functions of SAP products as outlined in the Statement of Work.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of groups including executives, managers, consultants, and clients.
  • Ability to engage and work with the client team, reach out internally to support or provide insight when working on problem statement, technical design, or configuration challenges.
  • Ability to creatively analyze and solve complex problems, with the ability to implement resolutions.
  • Ability to think in abstracts and logically, diligently asking probing questions and recommending solutions.
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
  • Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekend hours to ensure deliverable commitments are on delivered on time.
  • Ability to coach/train/mentor less experienced consultants and manage off-shore resources if required.

  • Extensive travel to client worksites.
  • Works in a professional and/or remote office environment.
