Description

Utilizes advanced solution architectural expertise to support software implementation projects. Supports overall project planning by providing functional strategic guidance. Contributes to business development through leading complex discussions with clients and potential clients to promote Rizing’s latest offerings.

Solution Architect works with clients and plays a lead role in the support and delivery of SAP services that are designed to manage the entire asset lifecycle, maximise its use and productivity, and ensure adherence to enterprise and regulatory procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, expertise across best practices and use of the SAP solution suite for the asset life-cycle. The SAP solution suite will evolve over time and is currently comprised of Project & Portfolio Management (PPM), Plant Maintenance (PM), Materials Management (MM), Project Systems (PS), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance (FI) and Real Estate (RE), along with related areas within the Organizational Risk Management (ORM) modules (e.g., Management of Change, Work Clearance Management, Incident Management, Risk Management and Worker Safety), as well as niche areas such as Mobility, Analytics, Scheduling, Linear Asset Management (LAM) Compatible Units (CU), GIS integration. All solution architecture should be undertaken within the IS55000 framework.
 

Essential Functions

  • Provides strategic guidance for SAP project planning, integration and overall solution architecture.
  • Provides project leadership to Professional Services team members to implement best practice decisions that successfully impact the overall platform.
  • Provides guidance in promoting designs, tools, and new features that take full advantage of SAP and Rizing’s most up-to-date offerings.
  • Supports project leads in translating business goals into appropriate solutions while assessing feasibility and optimization of the solution.
  • Supports strong business development initiatives by communicating with current and potential clients regarding expanded capabilities, features, and solutions most applicable to their needs.
  • Obtains new business by collaborating with Business Development to provide workshops, write RFP responses, and problem-solve unique client challenges.
  • Cultivates industry-specific business process knowledge and familiarity with relevant functional strategies, objectives, and plans through networking with product and topic-specific expert groups, internally and externally.
  • Provides input on training and expands upon SAP skillset and knowledge of industry trends/technologies by participating in Rizing competency centers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities

Client Delivery – General 

  • Manage your own consulting workload.
  • Ensure meaningful and relevant lines of communication are open with the client at all levels.
  • Assist in embedding and making sustainable the newly implemented System Integration Processes and associated Business Systems.
  • Work to ensure that customer’s needs and concerns are understood, met, and are dealt with appropriately.
  • Work to ensure considerable focus is given to the people and change aspects of Process and Systems improvement.
  • Work as directed to ensure consistency of approach, process, and performance across all clients.
  • Assist in identifying, qualifying, and delivering business process and systems improvements. 
  • Support the implementation of Business Process Improvement to our clients.
  • Focus on ensuring quality results are achieved for our clients.

 

Client Management

  • Identify and develop relationships with key client personnel. 
  • Assist to identify and deliver possibilities for new consulting projects within the client.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to increase consultant numbers within existing projects.
  • Assist to identify opportunities to increase contract duration within existing projects.

  • Ask questions to understand:
  • the clients’ business objectives and key measures.
  • what the client needs and wants to meet their business objectives, it may not be what they are asking for.

  • Manage clients to meet theirs and your deadline.

Solution Architecture

  • Provide on-site subject-matter expertise and team leadership to Rizing clients and consultants for overall SAP functional system and business process design for SAP implementations. 
  • Responsible for successful design and implementation of SAP Solutions at a client’s site. 
  • Provide functional knowledge, guidance, presentations, and instruction on SAP products to clients and consultants. 
  • Lead clients in project scoping along with detailed business process requirements definition and project blueprint activities. 
  • Take direct ownership of key strategic design decisions that span multiple work streams, ensuring design is consistently understood and that the overall solution will integrate successfully 
  • Work with clients and consultants to assess current business and systems processes and define plans for improvement. 
  • Lead functional project team during blueprint phase, helping client evaluate different process and standard SAP system configuration options, to select the best choice for their enterprise. 
  • Lead the functional team in developing and documenting design including process flows/narratives and functional specifications for technical objects. 
  • Understand and communicate standard SAP solutions to clients, when necessary identify where they can extend standard solutions to meet specific client requirements. 
  • Partner with the Technical Team in the overall application design and architecture. 
  • Understand Rizing Product capability and where these tools can be used as accelerators and when they should be sold as products / services. 
  • Adhere to SAP standards/best practices and Rizing project methodology within the context of the client’s preferred methodology. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to functional teams during Realisation and through Go-live, ensuring overall solution remains intact as issues are resolved during testing and configuration. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP best practices and advise clients on industry best practices. 

 

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s degree in information technology or business studies.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring role. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as SAP Solution Architect.
  • Hands-on experience in at least five full lifecycle SAP implementation projects, covering various aspects from project preparation to post-implementation support as a solution architect.
  • Experience in medium to large-scale industries such as utilities, oil & gas, aerospace & defense, or transportation.
  • SAP/non-SAP accredited Certifications as applicable (e.g. TOGAF, SAP EA, S/4HANA EAM, Finance, ISO55000)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Solution Architecture 

  • Expert in SAP S/4HANA and the broader applications suite, with knowledge of SAP's latest offerings, including APM, GEF, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of the Asset Management Lifecyle and associated SAP products/modules (PPM, PM, PS, MM, Finance, LAM, CU, Service, Mobility, GIS etc.). 
  • Design User Experience with knowledge of latest SAP UX strategies and guidelines.  
  • Design integration solutions between SAP and external systems using tools such as SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, and APIs.
  • Design solutions that leverage latest SAP technologies such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, and others.
  • Understanding of SAP cloud strategies and SAP cloud solutions e.g. S/4HANA cloud, SuccessFactors, Ariba.
  • Understanding of analytics capabilities, predictive analytics, and data analysis. Familiar with SAP solutions e.g. SAP SAC, Datasphere, Embedded Analytics.
  • Knowledge of architectural principles and components of enterprise architecture.
  • Architect SAP solutions that are scalable to accommodate growth and optimize performance.
  • Architect SAP landscapes, considering system integration, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Develop end-to-end solution blueprints covering SAP modules, integration points, and data flows.
  • Lead the architecture assessments for ECC to S/4HANA conversions, providing roadmap and recommendations for transition approaches.
  • Lead the design and architecture of SAP solutions that align with business objectives and requirements.
